SAVE TIME by using this convenient tool to schedule tennis matches, enter score and track results

• Participants: UTR 6.0/NTRP 4.0 or better, working professionals and former college players

• At the end of the six-month season top ranked players and most active members qualify to the Finals

• Registration is open all season and newly registered players start at the bottom of the Pyramid and work their way up with rankings rolling over into next season

FORMAT

Players are listed in a shape of a pyramid and ranked from top to bottom, left to right

• Each player’s ranking varies based on match results

• Members can challenge others who are (i) to the left of them on the same row or (ii) one row above

• Players ranked #1-#16 have the opportunity to challenge any other player

RANKINGS

• If the challenging player wins, he/she moves to the spot of the challenged player and the challenged player drops down one position, pushing the rest of the players down a spot as well; if the challenging player loses, there is no movement in the rankings

• Rankings are updated at the end of each day

• Players who do not play any matches for four consecutive weeks, drop down two ranking spots; every player is required to play at least one match every 6 months

RULES

• The challenged player has 24 hours to either (i) accept the challenge, (ii) reschedule for a different time/date; or (iii) decline. Once players agree on a mutual time and location, the match is considered scheduled. If the challenged player does not respond within 24 hours, challenge is considered declined.

• If a player misses or cannot attend the scheduled match (arriving 15 minutes late is considered missing a match), the opponent has the right to either (i) choose a win over him/her (walkover) or (ii) reschedule the match.

24-hour rule: Players have 24 hours to respond to a challenge invitation (agree, reject or reschedule). Players who have challenged someone have to wait 24 hours until they can challenge someone else again.

48-hour rule: Player that was challenged gets a 48-hour “unchallengeable” period and cannot be challenged for 48 hours, giving them time to challenge others

1-week rule: Players cannot invite the same player again until one week after their last match

1-month rule: Players cannot ignore the challenge from the same player more than twice in one month – after rejecting the challenge, a player must propose an alternative date and time or accept a loss

Example: John invites Peter to a tennis match, Peter rejects the challenge, John invites Peter again the next week. If Peter cannot make it, he must propose another date/time or accept a loss. Peter has 24 hours to make such decision and the alternative date/time must be within one month of the original challenge invitation.

COURTS & TENNIS BALLS

• Players who are being challenged to a match have a right to pick location – each player chooses up to three preferred locations

• Challenging players are responsible for providing new tennis balls for the match. Challenged players are responsible for reserving tennis courts for the match. Players split the cost of the tennis courts

RESULTS & RANKINGS

• Best of 3 sets, 10-point tie-break for 3rd set (unless players agree otherwise)
